JustFoodERP Inspires the Next Generation of Industry Leaders

For the past three years, IndustryBuilt has been quietly supporting the efforts of FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology). Never heard of it? Well it’s about time this organization, which is very near and dear to us, gets some recognition! FIRST was founded in 1989 by Dean Kamen, famed inventor of the Segway and avid champion of science and technology. The organization’s mission is to “inspire young people to be science and technology leaders.” As members of the technology industry, we believe that encouraging the next generation to get excited about science and innovation is crucial to our industry’s future.

Each year, tens of thousands of children ages 9-16 compete to see who can build the robot that most efficiently meet’s the challenge’s requirements. This year, the challenge involves food safety, and participants are asked to find a way to prevent or combat food contamination. But the challenge isn’t all about the competition, the participants are encourage to comply with the core values of FIRST: Gracious professionalism, friendly competition, and mutual gains. JustFoodERP is supporting two teams from the Birch Cliff Public School- we love encouraging young minds in the fields of science and technology!

Larry is the Customer Care Manager of JustFoodERP. He has been with the company in varying capacities for over 11 years and has been with JustFoodERP for just over 2 years. With a love of all things nerdy, Larry helps to coach Lego Robotics at both a junior and primary school level.
